My name is George Ayoub (CEO of Solution Ideas) and I am excited to welcome you to the first edition of our Solution Ideas Newsletter.
Solution Ideas is a company founded by people with disability for people with disability. Designed by a team of skilled people with well over 60 years of experience of living with disability in the community, Solution Ideas provides a flexible reliable service that meets the needs of the individual. We believe strongly that people are unique; that everybody is different. We take pride in customising our services to meet you where you are at. Supporting you to maximise capabilities to achieve goals, to live a full life and strive for a better future.
We take the time and we care. We care about each and every person. We know what it is like to have a disability and to rely on others for support. We know what it’s like to have people see us in different ways and not always favourable. No more should we as people with disability walk in fear of being not valued being excluded or abused. Solution Ideas pushes the boundaries to support the rights of people with disability: our right to live freely in a safe environment, to function, work, learn, and just have fun!

Lost my Voice
Not my mind
Lost my way
Not my will
My name is Sidharth. People who are close to me call me Sid.
This is my first time writing for Solution Ideas. I would like to say “Hi everyone”. How are you doing? I am excited to share my experience with you. I hope everyone will enjoy reading what I have to say.
Wow! First day of Spring. Isn’t it wonderful to be alive! The air is light and evenings are long giving us lovely times in the park and the seaside. We can’t waste this precious season. It won’t return for another year.
I would like to say a little bit about my interests and what I like to do.
I do a number of things. I am an advocate, most of the time I am a self- advocate, but first and foremost I am an author.
I recently published a book titled ‘An Unspoken Story’. It is a personal account of my experience of living with autism. Publishing this book was a defining moment in my life.
In the book the below passage appears and it sums up how I view myself:
“I am an author and a soldier for change. I want everyone to know that I am a thinking, feeling man, I do not speak. I am aware that I act in ways that others see as ‘weird’ as though I had ‘no sense.’ This is because my mind and body work differently and not always in congruence with each other. I can express myself through typing. I would like people in ‘Planet Normal’ to know what people with Complex Communication Needs (non- speakers) experience.”
In my monthly column I hope to present my view of what happens around me and what I think should happen.
I also hope that in the coming months, I will post on my website matters of importance to me, and I think would be of interest to others.
Writing a monthly column for Solution Ideas is my first regular job. I think only people with non-speaking autism or some other profound disability may understand what a big deal it is to have a regular job.
To be part of Solutions Ideas.
Let me say for me it is empowering but also challenging. On the positive side it is a step towards independence. I will be speaking about this more in the coming months. On the negative side, there are challenges that social interactions bring. You have to be a person with complex communication and sensory issues to fully understand this. That is another story for another edition of Solution Ideas.
My name is Khadeija. My friends call me Kay. I come from a Lebanese background and speak English and Arabic. I live with a physical disability and have been a wheelchair user for more than half my life. This does not stop me from achieving. If I believe I can do it, I will. With my writing for Solution Ideas, I want to take you on the journey of my life, the experiences I have gone through and the things that are important to me.
I hope that you enjoy what I have to share.
